Serves you right for kissing little girls.

I cannot believe that its been four months since we started school. I mean; the time seems to be flowing extrememly slow, but now realizing its been four months...Wow, its going fast. I thank whatever is up there for allowing me to still only be a sophmore. Seriously. I do not think I could handle being a junior or senior and going through all the stress of college searching, etc, etc. Yes, I have MCAS this year, which don't get me wrong, it sucks. But its far better then college searches.

I honestly feel so relaxed lately. I spend a lot of time laying about, listening to my iPod. Which is probably not the healthiest idea, but hey. Its my life right?

And I want to thank Ms. Herrick for donating a ton of songs to Lynn. Seriously, way to save my butt. I <3 all the new music and especially the ludo songs, Mr. Brightside, and Missed Me. MUCHO GRACIAS SENORITA MOLLY. TU MUY BONITA.

Now I'm going to eat a granola bar and listen to Mr. Brightside :D

Trust me, when it's over, you'll realize how fast it went.

In the mean time, make sure you don't wait until the last minute to get college stuff done. If you get it done with plenty of time to spare you won't feel nearly as overwhelmed and stressed, like
I did!
...Doing well in school is good, too. >_>

Ask for references well in advance, check out colleges realistically; meaning make sure you can afford it and that the distance away is okay for you and such. It's also good to make sure the college you're going to has two of the majors you may be interested in, that way if you don't like the first one as much as you thought, you can do the other one without the hassle of transferring. Visit all the colleges you want to go to; it's a good way to see how the campus is set up and know where stuff is [if there's stores and such without close proximity]. Open houses are good [though you can just set up an appointment if the dates are inconvenient] you meet other potential students as well as students that already go there. They're good for answering questions totally freely. They don't have to remain proffesional and can answer on a friend level.

Apply for all the scholarships available. If you get them it will help you a ton. Though, if there's a college you're heart set on and you know it's out of price range, remember that you can always take out student loans, which can be payed over tons of years [my aunt is 43 and she still hasn't payed back all of her student loans; so anytime she gets a tax return it goes into it. Not bad, eh?]

And don't forget little things; like to bring in envelopes and stamps for mailing out transcripts and applications. When you get birthday or christmas money, put some of it away for application fees [which cost anywhere from 20 to 100 dollars]. Talk to your counselor as much as possible; keep due dates and such written largely in your agenda book, and even leave yourself a note a week before saying "___ DUE NEXT THURSDAY." Go to the college fair. And take it seriously. It's not just a day off from school, you get to meet with real students and advisers from the schools in person and ask any and all questions you may have [write them down prior so you don't forget].

Even now, you can simply go to college websites and request information. They'll send you a little pamphlet in the mail; and you can always get in touch with their adviser for any questions. Also, if you keep in contact with the adviser, they'll begin to know you and remember your name; and they may even go out of their way to pull strings for you.

As for SATs, they're really not that bad. You don't really need to study your ass off; just a refresher in grammar and algebra and such would be good. I only took them once and I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. The worst thing was that it was SO LONG. Seriously. If you don't know something, take an educated guess. You've got a one in four chance. But make sure you know your math shit. But, really, it's not that bad. And remember if you don't do as well as you'd like to do, you can take it more than once. In fact. I suggest taking it twice, the first time do everything you can and make a mental note of what you don't know. That way you can study it and go back the second time ready to strangle it into submission. =D

If you need anything, you're always welcome to ask. I'm not the BEST person for college stuff, but if you're not comfortable asking anyone else, you can ask me and I can find out for you.
